The shapes and patterns in nature are founded in efficiency. The elegance in their simplicity are far from simplistic. Every line, curve and color is purposefully there without any waste. Technology is a human endeavour inspired from nature, striving to emulate its wonder by constant interation while carried on the backs of a few visionaries and giants.

A brand's origin story is incredibly important to construct. It’s a window into the past serving to tell a story to customers, helping them understand where everything came from. It serves to ground a concept, determine a direction and inspire evolution. Creativity is experience, Slate is past and future, nature and technology. Slate is form and function.

We distilled all our learnings into four emblematic elements that serve as the basis for the logo, combining to make the mark as gounded as possible. A chain for the underlying technology and connection, a hive symbolzing the strength and unity of the community, a shield serving as fortification and security, and an S as the dominant letter of Slate.

The interweaving nature of the chain has been incorporated in such a way to create a sense of connectivity and fluidity of movement, while having a firm stance echoing the boldness of the shield that makes up the overall hexagonal structure.

The “S” being the most dominant letter in Slate, we made sure it is omnipresent without feeling obvious. It serves as the fingerprint of the brand identity, and can be seen all throughout the hexagon, flowing naturally throughout the shape.
