Slate includes a companion Chrome extension that makes it easy to grab screenshots and images from anywhere on the web and upload them to Slate without juggling between apps.

The Slate Chrome Extension was created by Jason Leyser as a way to bring the Slate experience closer to where people are when they are doing research or looking for inspiration. It allows you to easily take images and upload them to any of your Slate. Soon, there will be support for other file types as well.

The Slate Extension is designed as a companion for your browser. We plan on making this a Swiss army knife for capturing and archiving content from around the web.

We wanted Slate to be useful anyone right out the gate. To us, that meant giving everyone enough free storage to be useful for any kind of files you might be trying to store or share. A big thanks to the folks over at Textile for making this possible.

Getting your files onto Slate is as simple as dragging your files into the app. And in the near future, our desktop client will give you the ability to sync a local folder with Slate for offline support.

Slate is an exciting new take on file sharing. The modular interface gives you total control over how you want to display files on the web for others inside and outside the network to experience. There's never been anything like it.
